What the jaci.pt website and waitlist collect, why, and how to be rid of it whenever you want.
On this page
1Who is responsible#
The controller responsible for the data collected by the jaci.pt website and the waitlist is Thiago Vieira, who builds Jaci. For any question about your data, write to support@jaci.pt.
2What we collect#
If you join the waitlist: your email, the page language, the section where you signed up and, if you arrived through a campaign, that campaign's name (the utm_source and utm_campaign parameters in the address). We do not ask for your name or any health data.
If you only visit the site, we count the visit in aggregate — see “Website statistics”. We use no cookies.
3Why, and on what basis#
Only to tell you when the app launches. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you confirm by clicking the link in the email we send right after you sign up. Without that confirmation, you are not added to the list.
4Who processes data for us#
Buttondown (Buttondown, LLC, USA) stores the list and sends the emails. Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA) hosts the site and counts visits.
Both process data only on our behalf. Transfers to the USA are made with the safeguards the GDPR requires for international transfers.
5Website statistics#
We use Vercel Web Analytics to know how many people visit and where they come from. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you across sites: each visit is counted in aggregate, and the technical identifier used for that is discarded at the end of the day.
6How long we keep it#
Until you unsubscribe — every email has a link for that — or at most 12 months after the app launches, whichever comes first. After that, we delete the list.
7Your rights#
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to support@jaci.pt. If you think we mishandled your data, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (cnpd.pt), or to the authority where you live.
8The app is a separate thing#
This notice covers only the website. The Jaci app keeps your entries on your phone and has its own privacy policy.
